New Life Quarterly Magazine

Quarterly magazine of art and criticism
Wolfman Books, 2017-2020

An image I created for New Life issue 4, the Correspondence Issue. We partnered with Berkeley Art Museum to host a letter writing event in their Art Lab, facilitated by quarterly editor, Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo. In the center of the image is the cover of the book, which is surrounded by mail from the BAM mail program.

New Life Quarterly was the quarterly arts and culture magazine from Wolfman Books. Founded in 2017 by myself, Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo, Tara Marsden, and Jacob Kahn. Spanning six ambitious issues, the quarterly contained profiles, columns, reviews, features, as well as selected poetry, fiction, art portfolios and non-fiction by emerging and established artists and writers. New Life attempted to explore the intersections of art and community, highlighting the exuberant and experimental margins—providing a platform for contributors and readers whose  identities exist at often overlooked intersections of race, class, gender-nonconformity, and sexuality to cultivate and connect.

In my role as editor, I worked with dozens of writers and artists to create reviews, essays, profiles and reviews for the magazine. I also oversaw all aspects of production, design and distribution of each issue.
