Swimming Talks + Actual Swimming

Event co-created with The Center for Hydro-Social Studies


In 2018, I co-created a reading and swimming event at Aquatic Park in San Francisco. The reading brought together two essayists, Hannah Kingsley Ma + Clara Sankey, and artists from the Center for Hydrosocial Studies (Annie Danis, Andrea Steves and Rose Linke). Hannah and Clara read essays about swimming and swimmers, and the Hydrosocial folks gave us an experimental history of the uses of the Aquatic Park. Then we all donned matching swimming caps and went swimming in the ocean.
